Floods and more Tornadoes!

We have had about 10 inches of rain in the last 2 days and so everything is getting very flooded around our area! There were more tornadoes as well not too far from here and damage done, but we didn't get any here. Thank the Lord! We did spend more time in the basement when there was a tornado heading our way, but after a while, it was only flood warnings and so we went to bed.

A tornado did hit my parent's property (2 hour drive from us) flattening their garage on top of their car, ruining some sheds, knocking down a tree and taking some shingles off their house, but thankfully their house was not taken and they are all safe!

Here are pictures that I took today on the way to church and back. I feel sorry for the animals that are standing in water and have no place to lie down. They didn't seem too happy! The car in the ditch probably went into the ditch last night while it was raining so hard. The bottom right corner is a picture taken near our house where they definitely need a culvert! That ditch is several feet deep, but totally filled to the road (notice the buried cattle fence). Here is a picture of a field and grader ditch beside the road; our neighbor's yard; the TV tower that you can't see the top of because of such heavy clouds; my garden filled even more; a baby toad that we saw swimming to my garden; Christopher's buried radish plants that are coming up. I may have to replant my whole garden later (when it ever dries up!!).
Here is some water in our front yard and grader ditches. While it was raining, I believe the whole road was covered.

We have some water coming into our basement from the crawl space under the house beneath our stairs. The carpet is drenched several feet from the stairs and into a closet as well as our laundry room. We are leaving the Bissell carpet cleaner running to suck up the water, but the noise is starting to drive me crazy! If you are in need of rain water, we'd gladly let you have it! You can take semi loads if you'd like!! :-)
Since we weren't able to have our "party" on Saturday, Christopher said we would have a party anyway because we were going to have a lot of fun and eat hamburgers/hotdogs ourselves! He sure had fun playing in the water and then I played a little with him in his room and we played a game. He "went fishing" with his magnet fishing pole I had rigged up for him and his metal juice can lid fish that he put in the puddles. He also used his tricycle as his "rowboat." Blake wanted to play but when he got his feet wet and especially when he got them dirty with grass pieces, he decided he didn't like it and wouldn't put his feet down to drive his little 4 wheeler. Christopher had to push him out of the water. Notice Blake's facial expressions! (You can click on the picture to see it bigger.)
Last year when we had flooding, Blake loved playing in the water and getting dirty!
After playing outside, the boys played town in their room. The bottom right picture is what Blake loves to do--talk on a phone!

Bless y'all's hearts! I cannot imagine the FEAR of knowing a storm is heading your way, and that you have no control over where it will hit! Glad that y'all are ok!
