This is a craft we made this Friday. (We have got a lot of our ideas out of craft books from the library.) 
The way we made this ball was to put vaseline all over a balloon, dip yarn in a flour paste (book said to use wallpaper paste & heavy string), and then let it dry before you pop the balloon.
The white in my hair is the paste because Christopher accidently flipped a gooey string!
