PIZZA
Pizza Dough:
2 c. warm water
2 T. yeast
2 T. oil
2 t. salt
3 T. sugar
2 T. powdered milk
5+ c. flour
Let water, yeast, oil, salt, sugar, and powdered milk stand for 5 minutes. Add 4 c. flour and stir. Add 1 c. flour and knead (add more if dough is too sticky). Smooth out on 3-4 lightly greased pans. [I usually use 2 rectangular cookie sheets and 1 round pizza pan.] Let rise. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. [I set oven at 170 degrees and let dough rise for about 10-15 minutes in oven and then turn oven up to 400 degrees while dough is still in oven.]
Pizza Sauce (for 3 pizzas):
3 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
1 1/2 t. salt
3/4 t. pepper
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 heaping t. onion powder
1/4 heaping t. "Mrs. Dash" (a spice blend)
Combine sauce ingredients and spread on pizza bread.
Add your favorite cheeses, meats, vegetables, etc. Put in oven to melt cheese.
Spinach Chicken Alfredo Pizza
1/2 jar of alfredo sauce for 1 pizza
fresh spinach
cooked chicken
chopped tomatoes
bacon bits
cheeses
Bubble Pizza
(This is a quick version of pizza--uses regular biscuit and pizza sauce recipes.)
1 lb. ground beef, browned in skillet
Biscuit dough:
2 c. flour
3 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1/3 c. vegetable oil
2/3 c. milk
Measure dry ingredients into bowl and stir. Pour oil and milk into flour mixture and stir until mixture cleans side of bowl and forms a ball. Pinch out some and roll into balls and place in 9x13" pan.
Pizza sauce:
2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
1 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1/4 heaping t. garlic powder
1/8 heaping t. onion powder
1/8 heaping t. "Mrs. Dash" (a spice blend)
Combine sauce ingredients and stir into browned beef. Pour meat mixture over biscuits in pan. Bake uncovered at 450 degrees about 10-12 minutes (until biscuits are done). Sprinkle with 2 c. shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses and bake 2-5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
