Christopher wanted me to "take" him to school in the van, but I told him he could ride his bike "to" school instead. I made him a special lunch, put some books, new markers, etc. and his lunch in his backpack and he rode his bike to school the first day on August 17th. He rode to each corner of our street and back again. He is enjoying school so far. He read the first 30 lessons in 3 days and now is in the 2nd unit and enjoying the worksheets & workbook that go along with it. We are also learning the 50 States (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUFeVKeKRQc) and the books of the Old Testament (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFfVouz2Cqo) right now.
He made 2 signs above his desk that say, "This is 1st Grade" and "This will be fun."

I gave each of the kids their own box of washable markers and so the boys were excited to make themselves into clowns since it can wash off easy!

So glad Christopher likes school! And how nice that Mommy packed his lunch and let him take it in his backpack and ride his bike "to school." That is so-o-o special! Looks like he is outgrowing that bicycle though. Much love to all of you!
